On December 31st, a major landslide in the Sierra de Tramuntana left the Ma-10 blocked with huge stones and soil. The landslide was a result of the strong rainfall over the last couple of weeks. About 90 metres of the road were covered by rocks and soil and cut off a major route in the Sierra de Tramuntana... As a result of the landslide the only road that remains to Sa Calobra goes through Soller, which represents a major difficulty for inhabitants of the region in Sa Calobra, Cala Tuent and other locations. According to different sources, the clearance of the road is likely to take about 4-5 months and heavy equipment from the mainland will be necessary. During that time access to the monastery of Lluc is only available via Inca or Port de Pollenca on the Ma-2200 and later on the southbound Ma-10. You should take this road lock into account in case you plan to visit the Sierra Tramuntana in the months to come.
