In the waters around Mallorca there are cruising quite a lot of maritime vessels and not just plenty of yachts. With our new map feature you can now track those vessels and access additional information on them, including lots of photos. The map is dynamic and you can zoom in and out to other regions...

If you have ever wondered which ships lay anchored in the port of Palma or the Bahia of Palma, you can look them up on the website www.marinetraffic.com. Iscomar's long term guest Pilar del Mar is still anchored in the Bahia among several other vessels.

As from today, the new exclusive webcam on www.andreasprange.com is online. Right now it shows the life on one of Palma de Mallorca's tiny streets in a residental area in the city centre. Due to limitations in the upload speed of my internet connection, availability is limited to 4 users...

Last Thursday, around 13:45 hours, a bomb attack in Palmanova interrupted the holiday season on the island of Mallorca. Official sources state that ETA, the Basque separatist terrorist organization, conducted the attack which killed two Guardia Civil policemen...

Since July 1st, 2009 the flag of the Balearic Islands flys over the island of Cabrera. The administration of the island has been transferred from the central government in Madrid to the authorities of the government of the Balearic Islands. According to news sources, the acquisition included a payment of almost 5 Million Euros...

Correos is the commonly used name for the company "Sociedad Estatal de Correos y Telégrafos", the national postal service in Spain which can look back to a history of more than 300 years. While being organized as a public limited company since 2001, Correos remains a government owned company with some 65.000 employees handling almost 6 bn deliveries a year, generating sales of about 2.1 bn EUR a year...

Ma-13 motorway upgrade

The Ma-13 motorway from Palma to Inca is due to be upgraded to a full 6 lane motorway. Work has already begun and the upgrade may be completed in late 2009. According to different sources, the funds necessary for the upgrade vary from 26.9 to almost 80 million Euros. Currently the Ma-13 only features three lines from Palma to Marratxi...
