In recent weeks carowners who live in Palma de Mallorca have received the "Aviso de Pago" for the "impost sobre vehicles de tracció mecànica". Translating this term to English or German is fun, but the amount due may not always be fun for all recipients. The last due date is May 2nd, 2007 and you can make the payment at counters at the Mallorquin and some Catalan banks. Make sure you have a copy as proof of payment. It is well worth to carry that one with you, especially during May and June, when the police is likely to ask for it if they stop you. |

All residents from European Union countries must register with the police if they live for more than 3 month a year on the island. First address where to register is the Policia Nacional at the Paseo Mallorca. The registration costs 6.70 Euros to be payed in the banks in the neighbourhood. Make sure you bring a copy of your passport with you. If not, you will have to go to the nearby copyshop and you can imagine what the copy will cost you there.... As of today the Mallorca Calendar has been updated and expanded significantly. You will find a lot of events for every single day from sports to culture, markets to festivals and even child specific events. Mallorca as an island has a limited number of cultural events, especially if you look for something that is Non-Mallorquin and Non-Catalan.
